3g Mobile-Wallet Phones released! ...in Japan
These elegant looking mobile phones may replace the wallet in your pocket, if you live in Japan that is. The new NTT DoCoMo FOMA 901i series have a list of features, some new to mobile phones. The FeliCa function enables the 901i to serve as a digital mobile wallet. Download funds into it and you're ready to spend by swiping the phone over a FeliCa reader in a store, movie theater, or anywhere else the readers are located. The four-way videoconferencing feature is definitely cool, and the smart-card equipped phones can also serve as controllers for TV, remote access, and one of the phones has a biometric fingerprint sensor for your phone security.
