Tivo To Go, on your Centrino Laptop

Tivotogo_1

Intel and Tivo are teaming up to introduce technology to wirelessly transfer TV content to Centrino laptop computers. Tivo DVR or PVR (personal video recorder) users will be able to transfer their recorded television programs using software pre-installed on a Centrino laptop PC, allowing for "Tivo to go" so you can travel with your digital programming content.

Sean Maloney, executive VP and general manager of Intel's mobile platforms group said that full details will be reveiled in two weeks. Tivo to go is not new to Tivo, but hooking up with Intel could lead to an easier way to transfer your favorite TV media and programs to your laptop via Wi-fi, and perhaps Wimax, and UWB (ultra wideband) in the near future.
