TiVo Makes Room For Commercial Tags
Digital Video Recording company TiVo is introducing new ID Tags that will identify advertisers during commercial breaks. Even if you fast forward, you'll see the tags, so you can choose to watch or learn more about the product being advertised. If it's a product that interests you, everyone wins: you, TiVo, and the advertiser. Soon Interactive advertising, and commercials will be the norm when we all have IPTV service...count on it.
The ID tags are designed to alert TiVo customers to certain products. If customers are interested in learning more, they can pause the show they are watching to receive a "long-format" commercial or obtain information about the product. The new campaign will be launched with General Motors and The WB Network commercials.
