Cameraphones to replace some Digital Cameras

It was easy to see this coming, and an ABI Research report confirms that cameraphones will steal most of the market for low-end digital cameras. If you've read about cameraphones like the Samsung MM-A800 2-Megapixel Camera , Nokia 6680 Smartphone, the Nokia Nseries Multimedia mobile phones, Sony Ericsson W600a Walkman Phone, and Samsung SPH-V7800 5-megapixel Camera Phone you'll see why it's obvious that camera phones will replace some stand-alone digital cameras. Most people won't want to carry a mobile phone and a digital camera if they don't have to, but pro digital photography enthusiasts will still want a seperate digital camera.

"We believe that within the next two years, the quality of a mobile phone camera will be such that people won't need low-end standalone digital cameras," ABI researcher Henneth Hyers said in a statement. "This will dramatically impact camera sales."
