Mobilcast - Mobile Podcasting Begins?

This news has got to make some companies out there mad.  I know several of them are working on their own ways to find, download, and listen to podcasts on a mobile phone, but it looks like Melodeo is the first out of the gate with Mobilecast.

There are nearly 400,000 Podcasts available today. But to hear them you need to connect your PC to the Internet, and your portable device to your PC. You need to repeat this process each time you want an update.

Mobilcast simplifies the process of finding and listening to Podcasts. Mobilcast lets you download Podcasts to your mobile phone, over the air. With a few simple steps you will be listening to Podcasts when you want, on the one device you carry with you every day-your mobile phone.

MobilCast will really be great when mobile broadband connection services like 3G, HSDPA become available in 2006. Downloading podcasts will be quick and easy then, but I'm waiting for a service that will allow you to create a Podcast on the mobile phone, post it right away, AND listen to other podcasts.  Now that would be real Mobile Podcasting!  (the competition need to make it happen)
