Skype 2.0 with Free Video Calling

Skype 2.0 beta upgrade adds free video calling, a feature Skype has been working on for some time. For now this is only for Windows XP users, but Apple Mac users will be able to join the party soon when the final edition of Skype 2.0 is ready to join the list of Skype services already available.

Skype 2.0 has several interface design enhancements, though the definite standout among the new features is the integrated video calling. In addition to the beta rollout, Skype has announced its collaborative partnerships with Web cam manufacturers Creative and Logitech, as well as its relationship with Six Apart, a blogging-software and -services company.

Skype 2.0 also adds a toolbar for Microsoft Outlook to find and dial contacts with a click. Skype was acquired last month by eBay Inc. $2.6 billion.
