Microsoft Zune Brand Confirmed

After all the Zune media player rumors, Microsoft has confirmed plans to release their multimedia Zune portable media device this year. More than a media player, Zune is also a brand that includes hardware and software products for music, movies, gaming and digital entertainment services. Cesar Menendez is working on the Zune project, and he has started the Zuneinsider blog to report the "official word" on Zune.

Engadget has some more Zune facts and speculation, saying among other things that Microsoft will probably be showing off the Zune device by the end of next month, and will aim for a November release. The Zune media device will also be drive-based, and have Wi-Fi for sharing media.
