Dell Recalls 4 Million Laptop Batteries
After several reports of Dell laptops going up in flames, Dell and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission are announcing the recall of 4.1 million laptop computer batteries. The batteries could overheat, and "pose a risk of fire", Dell says. This is bad news for Dell, but the Lithium ion batteries were actually manufactured by Sony, who say they will help pay the cost of the recall. In any case, Dell laptop owners are advised to remove the battery and use the AC power adapter only.
