HP Compaq nc6400 Notebook PC with integrated Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA
HP and Cingular Wireless have come together to announce the new HP Compaq nc6400 notebook PC with integrated Cingular Wireless UMTS/HSDPA-based technology. The companies say customers can use mobile broadband in the United States with either Cingular Wireless BroadbandConnect or high-speed EDGE services, and also abroad in over 115 countries where UMTS or GPRS/EDGE networks available. The HP Compaq nc6400 is the first notebook with a tri-band UMTS HSDPA (High speed downlink packet access) modem supporting data rates of up to 3.6 megabits, according to HP.
The thin and light HP Compaq nc6400 laptop is Microsoft Windows Vista capable, and features a 14.1-inch diagonal widescreen display, Intel Core 2 Duo processors, optional HP Privacy Filter, support of 3D graphics, and HP Professional Innovations, a suite of hardware features and software solutions that includes technologies such as integrated biometrics and digital accelerometers designed to enhance security.
The HP Compaq nc6400 Notebook PC with integrated Cingular Wireless BroadbandConnect is expected to ship in late December with a starting price of $1,599. HP nc6400 customers can get monthly unlimited Cingular BroadbandConnect service for $59.99. International plans also are available.
