SanDisk Sansa Connect MP3 Player, Sansa View Pocket Video Player, and Sansa Express Players
Sandisk Corp. has introduced new portable media players for 2007. Let's start with the SanDisk Sansa Connect, a Wi-Fi enabled MP3 player that lets you connect to music and online photos through any wireless “hot spot” Internet connection. Connect to new music via subscription services and streaming Internet radio with no PC required. Other features include a microSD expansion slot, internal speaker, thin design with large, 2.2” TFT color screen, backlit controls, Lithium-Ion battery, and multi-pin universal connector for “Made for Sansa” accessory upgrades. The 4-gigabyte Sansa Connect will be available in the United States in late March for $249.99.
The SanDisk Sansa View is a widescreen portable media player that features a large 4”widescreen display for viewing DVD-like quality video, digital photos, and includes an integrated speaker. The Sansa View measures 78.5mm x 123mm x 16.9mm (0.66” thick) and has 8GB of internal flash memory for storing up to 33 video hours or 2,000 songs or thousands of photos . A flash memory expansion slot allows for additional memory capacity and playback of content found on SD and SDHC cards. The Sansa View has Slideshow capability for photos with the ability to add background music, and also works with download and music subscription services like Rhapsody, MTV Urge and Yahoo! Music. The Sansa View video player works with Windows Media Player 10 or 11 for syncing of content, and is designed to work with Windows Vista as well. A removable Li-Polymer battery provides up to four hours of continuous video playback and 10 hours of continuous audio playback . The 8GB Sansa View is expected to be available from retailers in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2007, and is priced at $299.
The Sansa Express Player is a 1-gigabyte (GB) flash-based MP3 player that includes a microSD expansion slot, FM tuner, recording capabilities, a bright, four-line OLED Screen, data storage and a direct connection to a computer with no USB cable required. The Sansa Express can hold up to 3GB of music—or 750 songs —by utilizing a 2GB microSD card in the player’s memory expansion slot. The card feature also enables secure transferring of music to other devices equipped with microSD card slots such as mobile phones and PDAs. Available in March 2007 in the U.S. and Europe, the Sansa Express is priced at $59.99.
