HTC Advantage - HTC X7500
Okay, let's see if we can clear this up. HTC has unveiled the HTC Advantage mini-laptop device, which is also known as HTC X7500, T-Mobile Ameo, HTC Athena, and finally, the Dopod U1000 in China. No matter what you call it, this device is set for a worldwide release, so check for one of those names in your market if you're interested. The HTC Advantage, has the advantage of being smaller than notebook PCs, while still sporting the power and tools to get the job done on-the-go.
HTC Advantage is powered by Intel PXA270 624 MHz processor and ATI Graphic Chip W2284 and features 256MB ROM and 128MB SDRAM memory. Other goodies include a 3 mega-pixel camera with an additional camera and High power LED for camera flash, built-in microphone, dual speakers and loud speaker for Hands-Free operation. HTC Advantage will ship with Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition (no WM 6.0 yet?) and also includes Direct Push technology. This will let you to work with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents wherever you are. There's an 8GB hard drive inside and a miniSD card slot as well.
The 5” 640x480 VGA TFT LCD touch screen display connects to a detachable QWERTY keyboard, making the device even more compact. HTC Advantage has up to 8 hour battery life, and sports speedy Tri-band 3G/HSDPA, Wi-Fi, and stereo Bluetooth 2.0 wireless connectivity, as well as Quad-Band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. For GPS use, there's Go anywhere navigation with inbuilt GPS and TomTom NAVIGATOR 6 software.
The HTC Advantage will first be available as the T-Mobile Ameo in select European countries starting in March 2007, with other HTC versions being released simultaneously in other territories.
