Fujifilm's new 8-MegaPixel FinePix A820 ($179.95) and 9-MegaPixel FinePix A900 ($199.95) are a good deal for first-time digital camera buyers who are looking for an affordable, easy-to-use digital camera. Both cameras have features that you might see on more advanced models, including Fujifilm's signature Super CCD sensor technology, a 4x Optical Zoom lens and feature ISO levels of up to ISO 800. The FinePix A820 and A900 also feature a "Picture Stabilization" mode
in the dial setting which automatically chooses the correct light sensitivity and best-matching shutter speed for high quality digital pictures without blur and the noise.
A new icon-based Graphic User Interface (GUI) provides a brief explanation of settings on the LCD screen, and a mode dial provides easy access to shooting modes, including Auto, Picture Stabilization and Movie mode and allows 1-touch access to other pre-programmed scene modes. The FinePix A820 and A900 also feature a "xD/SD Media Compatible slot" that accepts Fujifilm's traditional xD-Picture Cards, as well as SecureDigital (SD) media cards.

FujiFilm's QuickSnap 1000 one-time-use camera gets an upgrade with
enhanced shutter speed of 1/200 second which, when combined with its 1000-speed Fujicolor film with Fujifilm’s patented 4th Color Layer Technology. It's available in Flash and Colors (red, blue, purple) versions.
The QuickSnap 1000's faster shutter speed with 1000-speed Fujicolor film minimizes the possibility of blurry pictures caused by moving subjects or camera shake, and the new flash reaches up to 17 feet.

Canon has introduced their new easy to use and affordable PowerShot A570 IS and PowerShot A560 digital cameras. The 7.1 Megapixel PowerShot A570 IS camera features a DIGIC III Image Processor, 4x optical zoom lens with a shift-type optical Image Stabilizer (IS) system and 2.5-inch LCD monitor. The 7.1 Megapixel PowerShot A560 camera also features including a DIGIC III Image Processor, 4x optical zoom lens and 2.5-inch LCD monitor, but lacks the optical image stabilizer. The new 7.1 megapixel Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH and PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH cameras are available in dual-tone, silver and midnight matte black face and full-black back panel, or original silver. Both feature a newly enhanced three-inch LCD display and 3x (35-105mm equivalent) optical zoom lens, and DIGIC III, Canon's ultra-efficient image processor. The Canon EOS-1D Mark III Digital SLR camera is said to be the world's fastest digital SLR camera at 10 frames per second, and it can also "fire huge motor-driven bursts of 110 Large JPEGs or 30 RAW files" as well. This advanced digital SLR has an all-new 10.1 megapixel, APS-H size CMOS sensor which is Canon's most light-sensitive and innovative sensor yet. It features an ISO range of 100 to 3200 with extensions to ISO 50 and ISO 6400. Canon also announced new accessories, including the EF-16-35mm f/2.8L II USM Lens and the Speedlite 580EX II Flash.

Nikon has introduced the new COOLPIX S200 and COOLPIX S500 7.1 megapixel cameras with 3x Zoom-Nikkor glass lens, VR Image Stabilization technologies, and metal body design. The COOLPIX S500 has fast, advanced performance with 0.6 seconds start-up time, and shutter lag in release priority mode is just 0.005 seconds. The S200 and S500 both have a high resolution 2.5 inch LCD monitor with an anti-reflective coating for easier viewing in direct sunlight. These cameras also have a 16:9 aspect ratio option for sharing images on a high-definition television.
The Coolpix S200 utilizes Electronic Vibration Reduction (e-VR) Image Stabilization which electronically overcomes camera shake for sharper results. The S500 has an even better Optical VR Image Stabilization that compensates for camera shake. The S200 up to 1000 ISO capabilities, while the S500 has up to ISO 2000 for capturing images in low-light situations.
