PowerShot TX1 Digital Photo and HD Video Camera
Canon has introduced the new pocket-sized PowerShot TX1 digital photo and HD video camera that features a 7.1 Megapixel, 1/2.5-inch CCD, DIGIC III Image Processor, 10x optical zoom lens with a shift-type optical Image Stabilizer (IS) system and 1.8-inch vari-angle LCD monitor with wide viewing angle. The PowerShot TX1 captures 30 fps High Definition (HD) 720p widescreen (16:9) video, which is similar to the compact and impressive SANYO Xacti HD2 high-definition video camera. The PowerShot TX1 has the DIGIC III ultra-efficient image processor that makes for faster start up, autofocus and shutter response times, improved image quality and more efficient power consumption. Canon's new Face Detection AF/AE/FE function enables the camera to detect, lock on, and track multiple human faces in a scene, and you can also use the function for movies as well as photos.
The PowerShot TX1 digital camera has 14 shooting modes, including Automatic, Camera Manual, Super Macro for close-up
work, Color Accent, Color Swap, Stitch-Assist, Movie (including HD),
and seven Special Scene Modes: Portrait, Night Snapshot, Indoor,
Foliage, Snow, Beach and Aquarium. The "MovieSnap" feature enables users to capture high-resolution still images
while recording movies. The camera records images and video to SD memory cards, SDHC memory cards, MultiMediaCards and MMCplus cards.
The Canon PowerShot TX1 ($499.99) will be stores beginning in March 2007, and includes a Lithium-ion rechargeable battery and battery charger, a 32MB MMC plus memory card, a USB interface cable, stereo AV cable for audio/video output, and a component video cable for connecting to High Definition TVs.
