Lenovo ThinkStation S10 and D10 Workstations
Lenovo's ``Think'' lineup of computers has a new member with the ThinkStation D10 and S10 workstations. Both workstations are aimed at professionals looking for high performance and reliability to handle demanding data and graphics-intensive tasks like computer-aided design/engineering, digital content creation, oil and gas exploration and electronic design automation. The new ThinkStations will have the power to get things done with the ThinkStation D10 workstation sporting the upcoming Quad-Core Intel Xeon processor 5400 series, and the single processor ThinkStation S10 workstation offering the latest Intel Core 2 Extreme processor QX9650. These are the first processors based on new 45-nanometer technology which is said to nearly double the density of transistors on the chips for new levels of energy-efficient performance. The latest graphics solutions from NVIDIA, dual Gigabit Ethernet, multiple slots, bays and USB ports for expandability will also be on board when the new ThinkStations ship in January.
A few organizations have already taken notice of these ThinkStations, with the AT&T Williams Formula One team and the NBA evaluating the workstations for possible integration into their operations. In fact, Lenovo is the official PC partner of the NBA, and already use Lenovo technology to run real time collection and transmission of NBA statistics at an arena near you.
The ThinkStation S10 workstation starts at about $1,199, while the ThinkStation D10 workstation starts at approximately $1,739.
