Nokia N810 Internet Tablet Hits Stores
The new Nokia N810 Internet Tablet has begun shipping nationwide in the U.S. at a suggested retail price of $479. It won't replace your laptop computer, but the Nokia N810 does have some nice features to handle tasks anytime, anywhere. The device has a new slide-out keyboard, built-in GPS, digital audio/video playback, touchpad screen, and Wi-Fi capability for VoIP calling. Powered by maemo Linux-based OS2008, the Nokia N810 portable internet tablet includes a 400 MHz processor, Mozilla-based browser, 2GB internal memory and up to 10GB of memory with an optional 8GB memory card.
Accessing the Internet is possible via Wi-Fi hotspot or over Bluetooth on a mobile phone, and there's Video Gizmo, and Skype for Voip communications. The Nokia N 810 provides 45 hours of music playback, and storage for up to 7,500 songs. Built-in GPS is a nice addition, with Wayfinder offering subscription based service for navigation over the Maps application at a cost of $129.99 for a 3-year license.
