Samsung S760 and S860 Budget Digital Cameras
Just when you're looking for a decent budget digital camera for the Holidays, Samsung announces two new entry-level digital cameras that are scheduled to be released AFTER the Holidays! Makes no sense to me. In any case, come January 2008 you can buy the 7.2 mega-pixel S760 ($169) or the 8.1 mega pixel S860 ($179) digital camera, and perhaps give someone a late Christmas gift. The two new models join Samsung’s S-Series of user friendly, compact point and-shoot digital cameras and will be available in black, silver, pink, and blue colors. Both the S760 and S860 feature a 3x optical zoom (35mm film equivalent: 38~105mm) Samsung SHD lens, 2.4” LCD display, digital image stabilization, high sensitivity ISO 1000, self portrait mode, and face detection technology.
The cameras also have 11 scene modes to choose from, including Night, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-Up, Sunset, Dawn, Backlight, Fireworks, Beach & Snow, and Self Portrait. For video, the Movie mode captures video in 320x240 or 640x480 resolution at 30 frames per second in AVI (MJPEG) format. Let's not forget the special effects "E" button on the Samsung S760 and S860, which gives users instant access to various creative controls for resizing and rotating images, adjusting brightness, contrast and saturation levels, fixing red eye, and more.
