Modbook Tablet Mac Computer Ships Today

Axiotron’s high-end slate-style Modbook, winner of Macworld Expo’s 2007 Best of Show Award, is now shipping for the new year. The Modbook is described as the first fully functional Apple-authorized tablet Mac solution, and it's the ONLY Mac-based tablet computer on the market. Graphic artists and designers will appreciate the enhanced onscreen writing and drawing functionality on the Modbook using the state-of-the-art Wacom digitized pen-sensitive LCD slate-style display. Wacom’s digitizer technology provides 512 levels of pressure sensitivity which should make for a fast, accurate and intuitive user experience.

Modbook comes pre-installed with Mac OS X Leopard, and OS X’s built-in Inkwell handwriting recognition software. You'll have a choice of a 2.0 GHz or 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, and each model is fitted with a built-in iSight camera and an integrated 24x DVD Combo drive or 8x DVD SuperDrive. Modbooks also feature a wide angle 13.3" widescreen display, built-in GPS, and a durable top shell and interior display frame built from aircraft quality magnesium alloy.

Priced at $2,290, The Modbook  is available in the United States and Canada exclusively through Axiotron Authorized Resellers, and will be showcased at the upcoming Macworld Expo 2008.
