ThinkPad X300 Laptop is the Second Thinnest
The Apple MacBook Air took the crown as the world’s thinnest laptop, and the race is on for runner-up. Lenovo is about take that position with the new thin ThinkPad X300 laptop which can apparently fit into a manila envelope as well. Mossblog got a sneak peek of the Lenovo ThinkPad X300 and a full review will be available soon from Walt Mossberg. Aimed at road warriors, the X 300 laptop features a 13-inch-wide screen, a rugged solid-state drive, and it comes with either Windows Vista or Windows XP. Unlike the MacBook Air laptop, this one has a built-in DVD drive, removable battery, three USB ports, and a wired Ethernet networking jack. It's said to be under an inch thick, and weighs in at 3.12 pounds with the standard battery and DVD drive.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X300 won't come cheap. Priced between $2,500 and $2,800, it includes 64 gigabytes of storage, and an optional built-in 3g modem and GPS. Official details are expected in the coming weeks.
