Samsung Omnia Phone
Samsung has attempted to outshine Apple's iPhone 3G announcement today by introducing its new touch screen SGH-i900 Omnia phone, which runs Microsoft's Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 operating system. Leaving iPhone 3G in the dust is Omnia's 5 megapixel camera with auto focus and face and smile detection. The built-in GPS receiver allows your to geotag photos as well. The Samsung i900 Omnia features a 3.2-inch wide QVGA display (240 x 400 pixels) and an optical mouse, with the screen boasting Samsung's TouchWiz user interface and on-screen QWERTY keyboard as well.
This slick smartphone supports quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and fast 3G HSDPA at 7.2Mbps, and Wi-fi connectivity. Unlike the new iPhone 3G, the Samsung Omnia includes an FM radio with RDS, stereo Bluetooth (A2DP), and a MicroSD card slot. An 8GB and a 16GB version of the Samsung Omnia phone will be available first in Asia and Europe in July.
