eMachines New Affordable Desktop PCs for Students
As we saw with Gateway's new notebooks and desktops, it's that time of year for students to find a good deal on PCs for the new school year. Now it's eMachines' turn to announce a few budget-friendly desktop PCs, along with two new eMachines LCD displays. The eMachines eMachines T3656, T5274, and W3653 desktop PCs are priced from $299 to $499 and are pre-loaded with Microsoft Windows Vista with Service Pack 1, and Microsoft Works 9.0. Each model includes 6-channel high-definition audio and amplified stereo speakers, a SuperMulti drive, high-speed 15-in-1 digital media card reader, and six USB ports. Out of the three desktop PCs, only the W3653 desktop PC comes with an LCD monitor.
Two eMachines widescreen LCDs are also available. The eMachines 17” Widescreen LCD with 1440 x 900 resolution, 600:1 contrast ratio, and 8ms response time is priced at $189.99. The eMachines 19” Widescreen LCD is priced at $209.99 and offers 720p High-Definition support, 1440 x 900 resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio, and 5ms response time. This display supports DVI with High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) for viewing digital movies and copy protected content.

A large 160GB hard drive makes it easy to store digital media and important documents quickly and easily.
eMachines T5274 – Multitasking Performance
Combining value with solid performance, the eMachines T5274 desktop priced at $399.99 (MSRP) is ideal for users who need to multitask. Featuring the Intel® Pentium® Dual-Core processor and 2GB DDR2 memory, the eMachines T5274 delivers dual-core performance and ample memory for multitasking and enjoying multimedia applications such as games, videos and music. The 320GB SATA II hard drive provides ample room for storing photos, movies and files.
eMachines W3653 – Complete Computing Package
For only $498 (MSRP), the eMachines W3653 offers users a complete computing package by combining the power and performance of the desktop PC with a high quality eMachines® 17” Widescreen LCD. The PC features the Intel® Celeron® Dual-Core processor and 1GB DDR2 memory for running multiple entertainment and productivity applications simultaneously. Users can store digital media and other files on the large 320GB SATA II hard drive.
