Sony VAIO FW 16.4-Inch Wide Multimedia Notebook
Sony's new VAIO FW multimedia notebook sports an extra-wide 16.4-Inch LCD with XBRITE-HiColor LCD technology, making it a good choice for those who are looking for something between a larger 17- inch widescreen notebook and a 15.4-inch model. The premium VAIO FW notebook includes a Blu-ray disc drive for watching high definition BD movies on its widescreen, or in full 1080 HD resolution when connected to a compatible HDTV via HDMI. Even better, this model can also record, store and play back personal content on high-capacity Blu-ray discs.
The Sony VAIO FW notebook is powered by Intel's new Centrino 2 processor technology, and comes with entertainment software applications inlcuding VAIO Movie Story software, VAIO MusicBox software, and VAIO Media software. VAIO FW notebooks are equipped with 802.11n wireless connectivity, a Memory Stick media/SD card slot, three USB ports, an i.LINK IEEE-1394 port, microphone and headphone jack, and a 34mm ExpressCard slot.
These new multimedia notebooks will be available in late July in titanium gray and powder white. The standard VAIO FW starts at about $1,000, while the VAIO FW premium will cost about $1,750.
