Sony Drops PlayStation 2 Price to $99.99

Ever since Sony released PlayStation 3, some people may not be aware that the PlayStation 2 console is still around doing its thing, having sold about 136 million units worldwide. Now Sony is hoping to move more PlayStation 2 systems by giving it the new affordable price of $99.99 (down from $129.99) starting April 1st., with around 1,900 video game titles available for the console this year. That makes for lots of fun gaming entertainment for those on a budget, and Sony will continue to support PlayStation 2 well into the future.

SCEA will continue to support PlayStation 2 system with new titles that appeal to families and casual gamers looking for social entertainment experiences. First-party games such as MLB(R) 09 THE Show(TM) and MotorStorm(R): Arctic Edge as well as major franchise titles from SCEA's publishing partners demonstrate the continued growth of the platform's library of content. In addition, more than 250 best-selling PlayStation 2 titles have achieved "Greatest Hits" status, providing consumers with plenty of games to choose from at value pricing.

Samsung Mondi Mobile WiMAX Device

Samsung's past Mobile Wimax devices never made it to the U.S., but this new Samsung Mondi device is ready to make its debut with Clear mobile WiMAX service from Clearwire. The Mondi has a full QWERTY keyboard for text input, an optical mouse and a sliding 4.3-inch touch screen, making this is a nice compact device for the road. It runs on Windows Mobile 6.1 featuring Microsoft Outlook and Windows Mobile Office, and it also includes GPS Navigation, and Opera 9.5 web browser.

The Samsung Mondi Mobile supports mobile Wimax and WiFi connectivity, so customers can look forward to downloading and watching movies, listening to music or playing games anytime, anywhere.

Skype for iPhone and iPod Touch is Now Available at the Apple App Store - Demo Video

Skype for iphone and ipod touchThe day has come!  Skype for iPhone and iPod Touch 2g has been released and you can download it from the Apple App Store now. Second generation iPod touch users will need a compatible headset and microphone to take advantage of Skype calling and instant messaging.

As Skype uses Voip for Internet phone calling, a strong Wi-Fi connection is recommended. Skype-to-Skype calls using an iPhone or iPod touch are free, but Skype calls to landlines or mobile phones depend on Skype’s normal low rates. The Skype for iPhone demo video below lays it all out.

Skype for iPhone and iPod Touch capabilities include:

  • Free Skype-to-Skype calls from any Wi-Fi zone to other Skype users worldwide
  • Call landline or mobile phones at Skype’s great low rates from any Wi-Fi zone

Asus Eee PC 1004DN Netbook is First Eee Netbook with Super-Multi Optical Disc Drive

AsusTek breaks through the netbook clutter with this new Eee PC 1004DN which they like to call an "ultra-portable mobile internet device." The news is, it's the first in the popular Eee PC range to feature a Super-Multi optical disc drive which reads and writes data to DVD or CD. The Asus Eee PC 1004DN is powered by an Intel N280 1.66GHz processor, and it has a 10-inch WSVGA (1024x600 pixels) LCD display that supports 720p high definition playback. You'll also find a 1.3 megapixel webcam, and an Express Card slot on this netbook. Additionally, it offers 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, and up tp 5.9 hours of battery life.

Dell Inspiron Slim and Mini-tower Desktop PCs Come in Eight Colors

We know from Dell's colorful Mini laptops that the company is focused on adding new stylish designs to its product line, and that trend continues with the new Dell Inspiron Slim and Mini-tower desktop PCs which are available eight colors - Piano Black, Pure White, True Blue, Formula Red, Tangerine Orange, Spring Green, Plum Purple and Promise Pink. 

Dell is targeting students and teens with the new desktop line, but anyone wanting to bring a bit of color to their computing might like these. As these photos show, they are compact systems but the slim version will save you the most space.

Inspiron slim and mini-tower desktops are on sale now in China starting at $299, and the systems will be available worldwide later this spring.

Motorola Evoke QA4 Phone with 2.8" Full Touch-screen

Motorola Evoke QA4 Motorola has introduced the new Motorola Evoke QA4 phone, a slider-style device with a 2.8" 240 x 400 resolution full touch-screen and virtual QWERTY keyboard for messaging. Looking a bit like an answer to the iPhone and Palm Pre smartphones, the Evoke QA4 has a customizable home screen that features integrated widgets and quick access to RSS feeds, weather, sports scores, stock reports, news headlines, digital media, and the phone's HTML browser. The device supports CDMA and EVDO Rev A connectivity.

Motorola's aim is to keep customers "constantly connected" during phone calls, messaging, Web feeds, or social networking. In fact quick-start widgets on the phone inmclude MySpace and YouTube, and you'll probably see Facebook and Twitter widgets at some point as well. The phone is also equipped with an accelerometer, making for some landscape texting and web browsing. There's a 2 megapixel camera, A-GPS, and Bluetooth on board, but it looks like Motorola skipped Wi-fi on this one.

AT&T Adds Nokia E71x, Samsung Propel Pro, Samsung Impression, LG Xenon, LG Neon, Samsung Magnet Smart Phones

AT&T understands that more and more customers are looking for mobile phones with QWERTY keyboards for easy text messaging and emailing, and the company is coming through this Spring season with a nice selection of new devices that will help you get things done on-the-go. Expect to see the Nokia E71x and the Samsung Propel Pro smartphones, as well as the Samsung Impression, Samsung Magnet, LG Xenon and LG Neon quick messaging cellphones at AT&T stores and AT&T online in the coming weeks.

The Samsung Impression and Propel Pro will arrive on April 7 and 14, respectively, and the LG Xenon on April 8. The Nokia e71x, LG Neon and Samsung Magnet will show up in the following weeks. Messaging bundles offering 200, 1500, and unlimited messages will cost $5, $15 and $20, respectively, while Unlimited messaging for AT&T FamilyTalk plan customers for all lines will cost $30.

Tesla Model S Sedan Electric Car Available in 2011

After initial leaks, Tesla Motors has unveiled, and is now taking orders for the all electric Tesla Model S Sedan. Scheduled to be released in 2011, the base price of the Model S will be $49,900 after a federal tax credit of $7,500, and it will come with three battery pack choices with a range of 160, 230 or 300 miles per charge. Unlike the smaller Tesla Motors Roadster Sport $100,000 all electric car, the family-friendly Tesla Model S Sedan can carry seven people.

Digital technology found in the car includes a 17-inch touchscreen with in-car 3G connectivity, which allows you to listen to Pandora Radio, check Google Maps, and check the state of charge remotely from an iPhone or laptop. Well done Tesla Motors!
