Lenovo IdeaPad S12 Netbook features NVIDIA ION Graphics

Lenovo IdeaPad S12 Netbook Lenovo took the wraps off its new IdeaPad S12 netbook which features a 12.1-inch screen, a 100 percent full-size keyboard and most importantly, NVIDIA ION graphics. Unlike many other netbooks out there, the IdeaPad S12 offers a very portable solution for enjoying high quality 1080p HD video, gaming, and entertainment thanks to NVIDIA ION graphics.

“NVIDIA ION graphics help deliver the same features found in premium PCs at lower price points and new form factors,” said Rene Haas, general manager, Notebook GPUs, NVIDIA. “With enhanced graphics, the Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook is perfect for watching movies, playing popular games like Spore, flipping through vacation pictures or enhancing family videos.”

The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 netbook boasts up to six hours of battery life, WiFi connectivity, 3G with an ExpressCard slot, up to 160 GB of storage and 1 GB of memory. The netbook is powered by an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, and it also incorporates Dolby Headphone technology, a VGA port, 4-in-1 multicard reader, and an HDMI port on select models for watching video on an external monitor. Lenovo’s OneKey Rescue System is on board to help recover user data or device settings, along with Lenovo’s expanded VeriFace facial recognition technology for easy log-in.  Available in white or black, the IdeaPad S12 netbook weighs just three pounds, and you can pick one up in June starting at $449. I would wait for the enhanced models with NVIDIA ION graphics, which will be available later this summer.
