Both are said to be dead simple to setup and use, and each can replace up to five other remotes. These are equipped with one-click activity buttons that automatically turn on the right devices and select appropriate input settings. You first have to complete an online setup and you're ready to roll. After connecting the remote to your computer, download the software from Logitech's website which will guide you through entering the make and model number of your devices. Logitech's database is filled with around 250,000 home-entertainment devices from some 5,000 brands, so any gear you have should be supported.

The Logitech Harmony 600 Remote has a monochrome backlit screen that shows you commands like power and volume, and it also displays answers to questions via a Help button on the remote control. The Logitech Harmony 650 Remote features a color screen, which displays icons for channels as well as the commands for the devices you’re using. .
