TiVo Premiere Elite set-top box now available

The TiVo Premiere Elite set-top box is now available, boasting four digital tuners, a two-terabyte hard drive, and THX certification. The new DVR is said to be the first with four tuners, which allows you to record four different shows while watching a fifth recorded program. The two-terabyte hard drive can record about 300 hours of HD programming, which is about twice as much as your average DVR. The unit can only be used with digital cable systems, not with analog cable or over-the-air antennas.

TiVo Premiere Elite is on sale now for $499.99 from tivo.com, at Magnolia stores, and select dealers.

Electronic Arts announced the release of the new EA Sports FIFA Soccer 12 videogame for the North American market, while the rest of the world will get a September 30th release date. As one of the highest rated sports videogames on PlayStation3 and Xbox 360, FIFA Soccer 12 has already seen about 800,000 pre-orders. FIFA Soccer 12 is available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac, Wii, PlayStation 2, Nintendo 3DS, PSP PlayStationPortable, Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and iOS mobile devices, and the game is now available on Mac computers for the first time.

FIFA Soccer 12 brings to the pitch the game-changing new Player Impact Engine, and revolutionary gameplay innovations inspired by the real-world game, including all-new Precision Dribbling, Tactical Defending, and Pro Player Intelligence. Philips introduces BDP7580 Wireless HDMI Blu-ray player

Philips introduced the world's first Wireless HDMI Blu-ray player at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show. The BDP7580 wireless HDMI Blu-ray player features 3D playback, Philips MediaConnect, NetTV, VUDU, Pandora, Netflix and Blockbuster streaming on a player that only requires one cord - the power cord. MediaConnect on the system allows you to wirelessly connect the PC to the TV for access to online movies, photos, videos, social networking and more. The Philips 7580 player offers full 1080p at 24fps for cinema-like images and upscales your DVDs to 1080p. The player also offers AVCHD playback.

The Philips BDP7580 is expected to hit stores in April priced at $499.99.

TiVo to Release Free TiVo Premiere iPad App DVR Remote Control

TiVo is set to release its new TiVo Premiere app for the iPad, which will be available as a free download from Apple's iTunes App store in the coming weeks. TiVo recently announced Holiday pricing for the TiVo Premiere box which costs $99.99 with a one-year commitment of $19.99 per month, and the TiVo Premiere XL box which costs $299.99 with a one-year commitment at $19.99 per month.

The video below shows a pretty cool TiVo Premiere App in action. The app enables you to search, browse, select and watch entertainment content, and it also acts as a great remote control and user interface for TiVo Premiere.

Microsoft announces 17 Controller-Free Games for XBOX 360 Kinect

Microsoft will start releasing its lineup of 17 controller-free Kinect for Xbox 360 games on November 4th and throughout this holiday shopping season. Kinect for Xbox 360 was recently featured on “The Oprah Show,” where, you guessed it, she gave each audience member a free Kinect and Xbox 360 console. The rest of us will have the option to buy the all-in-one Xbox 360 4GB Console with Kinect package which includes the new Xbox 360 4GB console, Kinect sensor and “Kinect Adventures” videogame for $299.99, or the stand-alone Kinect device if you already own an Xbox 360, for $149.99.

Canon has added the new PowerShot G12 and PowerShot SX30 IS digital cameras to their popular PowerShot line. The 10-Megapixel PowerShot G12, featuring a 5X-Optical Zoom lens and 720p HD video recording capability will be available in October at an estimated selling price of $499.99, while the 14.1-Megapixel PowerShot SX30 IS, featuring 720p HD video capabilities and an impressive 35X-Wide Angle Optical Zoom lens will drop in late September for about $429.99.

Hulu Plus to Launch in July for $9.99 per Month Subscription

Hulu.com is set to launch its new Hulu Plus subscription service for watching TV shows anytime and anywhere on an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPad via Wi-Fi or 3G, as well as at home on select Samsung Internet-connected TVs and Blu-ray players streaming HD content in 720p high definition using a Hulu Plus application from the Samsung app store. Hulu Plus will also be available on a bunch of other devices like XBOX 360, PlayStation 3, and HDTVs /BD players from Sony and Vizio in the near future.

"The Hulu Plus app on the iPhone streams over 3G and Wi-Fi. It’s TV shows in the palm of your hand. A spare five minutes will never be as boring again. You can start watching a show on your HDTV one night, pick up where you left off on your laptop at lunch, watch another chunk on the bus ride home on your iPhone, and finish watching in bed on your iPad. The time to watch your favorite shows is any time you want."
