AT the 2012 International CES next week, LG Electronics will introduce its version of a Google TV, which the company has named LG Smart TV with Google TV. The set runs Google's Android OS and includes an Android-based user interface and the LG Magic Remote Qwerty control for easy browsing and content selection. According to LG, search, social networking and TV functions can be run simultaneously on their Google TV.
The LG Smart Google TV is also equipped with LG's CINEMA 3D technology, but CINEMA 3D glasses will be sold separately. This model also has a built-in 2D to 3D conversion engine allowing 2D content to be viewed in 3D. LG's Smart TV with NetCast content services from the Web will be available globally at launch, which will be sometime in 2012, exact date or pricing was not announced.
