
Set to go head-to-head with Apple's iPod Touch player, Samsung Electronics has just announced its new Android-based Galaxy Player which will be available with a 4-inch Super Clear WVGA LCD screen or 5-inch LCD WVGA display screen. The portable media player offers entertainment and multimedia on-the-go, including games, music, videos, e-books, and social networking with Twitter and Facebook. The Samsung Galaxy player will be running Android version 2.2 (Froyo) when released this spring in the US, but Samsung says that they will be upgradeable to Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) eventually.

SanDisk has introduced its latest portable media player, the new Sansa
Fuze+ MP3 player, available now in red, white, black, blue and purple colors. The
player comes in 4, 8 and 16 gigabyte versions priced at $79, $89
and $119, respectively.
The Sansa Fuze+ is a successor to the Sansa
Fuze MP3 player, and now has a rounded palm-friendly design, a new capacitive touchpad and a 2.4”
QVGA LCD screen for viewing videos or
photos.

Samsung Electronics is launching two new sleek portable media players, the Samsung R1 and Samsung R0. The R1 player is said to be smaller than the size of a credit card, with a 2.4-inch TFT LCD touch screen used to control audio and video content playback. The R0 model is also a digital audio and video player, and this one gets a 2.6-inch LCD display. Both the R1 and R0 incorporate
Samsung's Digital Natural Sound Engine (DNSe) 3.0 sound enhancement
technology, and both offer DivX video playback.

Archos announced
six new MP3
and MP4 players in its
Vision line of portable music and media devices. Archos says that they've sold over a
million of their previous music players internationally, which is no real challenge to Apple's dominance, but they hope these new players will bring that number up this year. Apple has this category all but locked down, but it's always nice to see new devices offering more choices for consumers.
The new Archos Vision players will be coming stores this Spring, with a variety of capacity and price options available.

audio player, photo album, an FM radio
and it is also a portable storage device. The MyFit (YP-W1) player is a unique health gadget that features the world’s first wellness management technology with body fat and stress level measurements. It also helps to monitor fat thickness, calorie intake and burn, and exercise
effectiveness.
The Samsung IceTouch and MyFit will be available in the first half of 2010 with 16GB and 8GB storage capacity, respectively. Pricing was not announced.

The device includes an FM radio, a
video-out for viewing videos and photos on a TV, and a microSD card slot for
expanded memory. The Creative ZEN X-Fi2 media player sells for $229.99 for the 32GB model, $179.99 for the 16GB
model and $129.99 for the 8GB model.
