Sharp recently announced its 2012 large-screen LED TV line-up with some 20 large screen 60-inch plus class AQUOS LED TVs featuring new technologies like SmartCentral, AQUOS Advantage LIVE, Quad Pixel Plus II, and full-array LED backlighting with local dimming. Sharp also announced an April 2012 release date for its first Quattron 80-inch Class 3D LED TV. The 80-inch LC-80LE844U model features a newly developed 240Hz AQUOS LCD, built-in WiFi, 4 HDMI inputs and the new SmartCentral user interface.

LG Electronics is set to hit CES 2012 next month showing off the world's largest Ultra Definition (UD) 3D TV with a large 84-inch class screen that boasts 8 million pixels. At four times the resolution of today's Full HD TV panels, this 4K UDTV impresses with 3840x2160 resolution. It also features LG's passive CINEMA 3D technology and Smart TV functions with over 1,200 apps, while an immersive 3D viewing experience is enhanced with 3D Depth Controls, 3D effects, 3D Sound Zooming, and access to 3D movies and content from the 3D Zone service. There's also an embedded 2D to 3D conversion engine in this baby.
