Altec Lansing LIVE 5000 Wi-Fi all-in-one speaker

Altec Lansing has released the LIVE 5000 (MN5000) Wi-Fi all-in-one speaker, a wireless speaker that can be moved around the house and controlled from a free iOS, Android or Desktop LIVE application after connecting the LIVE 5000 to your home Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n network.  According to Altec Lansing, the LIVE 5000 is driven by a tri-amp system, the two 3-inch mid-range drivers constructed of super strong Kevlar, and the speaker also features neodymium soft-dome tweeters, a long-throw 4-inch subwoofer and passive radiator for punchy bass. 

 Look for the LIVE 5000 Wi-Fi speaker to be available in early summer 2012 for $499.95.

Logitech Cube mouse and presenter device

Logitech-Cube Logitech recently unveiled the slick little Logitech Cube, which works as both a mouse and a presenter.  In mouse mode, the Logitech Cube scrolls when you swipe your finger along the main panel, with Logitech’s Flow Scroll software providing a smooth scrolling experience.

If you need to make a presentation, use Logitech Cube as a presenter by lifting it in the air to switch it into presenter mode. According to Logitech, clicking the top of the mouse advances to the next slide, and if you need to go back you turn the mouse over in your hand and click again. The Logitech Cube comes with the tiny Logitech Unifying receiver featuring Logitech Advanced 2.4 GHz wireless connectivity.

Priced at $79.99, the Eye-Fi Mobile X2 8GB offers a new "Direct Mode" and app for iOS and Android devices which allows the Eye-Fi card to establish a direct connection to your compatible device via Wi-Fi. Once the connection is set, you can send photos and videos directly from a digital camera to the Eye-Fi app on your device.

Sprint Overdrive Pro 3G 4G Mobile Hotspot by Sierra Wireless

Sprint and Sierra Wireless have released the new Overdrive Pro 3G/4G Mobile Hotspot device which allows you to connect up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices simultaneously via Sprint's 4G network. These can include laptops, tablets, eReaders, gaming devices, cameras and smartphones from other carriers as well.  The Overdrive Pro 3G/4G is priced at $49.99 after a $50 mail-in-rebate with a two-year service agreement on a 3G/4G plan which starts at $49.99 per month. The device is on sale at Sprint stores now  and details on Sprint's 3G/4G plans are online also.

Sprint is touting several improvements over the first generation Overdrive, including a 35 percent improvement in power-up and power-down times, an integrated LCD screen which is 45 percent larger where you can view signal strength, battery life, and number of devices connected, and Wi-Fi connection range of up to 150 feet.

Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi tablet with 32 GB of memory priced at $599

Motorola-xoom-wifi If you're thinking about buying a Motorola XOOM tablet, but don't want to sign-up for a Verizon Wireless service or the Xoom, Motorola Mobility is set to release a Wi-Fi edition of the Motorola XOOM tablet with 32 GB of memory for $599 on March 27th. It will be available from Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam's Club Staples and Walmart stores in the United States.

Motorola XOOM Wi-Fi edition has most of the same features as the Verizon Wireless version, including the 10.1-inch widescreen display, Android 3.0 (Honeycomb), a 1GHz dual-core processor and 1 GB of RAM. Google Mobile services on the tablet include Google Maps 5.0 with 3D interaction and access to more than 3 million Google eBooks. Along with apps from the Android Market, a Beta of Adobe Flash Player 10.2 is also downloadable from Android Market.

AT&T Stores to sell Amazon Kindle 3G Wireless eBook Reader

Amazon's popular Kindle 3G wireless eBook Reader is set to go on sale at AT&T retail stores nationwide beginning March 6th priced at $189, with no monthly wireless fees or annual contracts. Kindle 3G connects to AT&T's 3G mobile broadband network or over Wi-Fi to wirelessly download books, magazines, newspapers, blogs and personal documents. The lightweight Amazon Kindle 3G eBook reading device features a 6-inch Pearl e-ink electronic paper display that is actually readable in direct sunlight, and the ereader can store up to 3,500 books.

Samsung's First 4G LTE Smartphone coming to Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE Mobile Broadband network service customers will have yet another phone to choose from soon with the upcoming Samsung 4G LTE smartphone being readied for release, preloaded with LTE-specific applications. The device is powered by the Android 2.2 operating system with Google Mobile services like Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, and access to over 100,000 apps on Android Market.

The Samsung 4G LTE smartphone for Verizon Wireless features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus touch screen display, a 1GHz application processor and HTML5 Web browser that takes advantage of high-speed 4G LTE connectivity for faster downloads. The handheld is also designed with a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and front-facing 1.3-megapixel camera that supports video chat. A Swype powered virtual QWERTY keyboard is also on board for text input and messaging on the Samsung 4G LTE phone, as well as Samsung's Social Hub and access to Samsung's Media Hub content service.

Verizon Wireless 4G LTE Network Launched Today

Verizon Wireless launched its 4G LTE mobile broadband network in 38 markets across the U.S. today. Verizon is promising download rates of between 5 - 12 megabits per second, and upload rates at between 2 - 5 Mbps, with two 4G LTE high-speed wireless data service plans available - a 5GB monthly plan priced at $50, and a 10GB monthly plan priced at $80. Overage charges for both plans are set at $10 per 1GB. At launch the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network will initially offer customers two 4G LTE modem devices, the LG VL600 and the Pantech UML290, which are each available for $99.99 with a new 4G LTE Mobile Broadband Plan contract. 4G LTE smartphones will be released in 2011.

Apple iPad goes on Sale with MiFi at Verizon Wireless Stores on October 28th

In time for the holiday shopping season, Verizon Wireless will begin selling the Apple iPad at Verizon Wireless Stores starting on October 28th in three bundle options that include Verizon's MiFi 2200 mobile wireless hotspot device, or in iPad Wi-Fi stand-alone options. Breaking down the Mifi versions, you can buy an iPad Wi-Fi 16GB with the Verizon MiFi 2200 for $629.99, or drop $729.99 for iPad Wi-Fi 32GB + MiFi, or dig deeper for $829.99 to buy an iPad Wi-Fi 64GB + MiFi. A monthly access plan to iPad customers of with up to 1GB of data costs 20 bucks a month.

Portégé R700 4G WiMAX Ultraportable Laptops from Toshiba

Toshiba's 4G WiMAX-ready Portégé R700 series ultraportable laptops are hitting retail this week, with the Portege R700-S1332W priced at $1,699 and the Portege R700-S1322W laptop selling for $1,349. At about an inch thin, this new model is described as the world’s lightest (3 pounds) 13.3-inch full-performance ultraportable laptops with an integrated DVD drive. They arrive as broadband WiMAX connectivity is now  available in 54 cities across the United States and will also be available in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami, Minneapolis, New York and Pittsburgh by the end of 2010.
